Over 5 1/2 years of driving past Troy Carter’s artistic utopia, Atom Factory, almost daily, we always wondered when we would enter his world. The day came a few weeks ago when JUST Water hired Nuyorktricity to shoot, edit & create the graphics for their new web series, “I’m Just”.
His magical space did not disappoint! We saw so many of our favorite artists, authors, photographers & musicians represented in his sun-drenched library, we felt right at home. Then he dropped some knowledge and blessed us with notable gems on inspiration and using failures as steps to success.

As long as I've been able to drip water into globs of ketchup on my Sesame Street kid plates and turning meals into abstract watercolor works...I've been hooked! As I've gotten older, my love for watercolor paintings and for artists who create masterpieces with water and paint has only grown stronger.

Recently, my homie Kevin Kay who runs the FMLY art gallery in NYC put me onto one of artists, Dan Gluibizzi. As I began clicking on the images of his art, my mind quickly started imagining how great his collection would look all around my house and studio.

It was so refreshing to be in the presence of someone sharing a story so honest and relatable to make me question why we feed fears and choose to keep our inner roadblocks intact.

"I Rise" is a short film inspired by Andra Day's song "Rise Up" that tells the story of trailblazing African-American women who create, inspire and transform. The film features singer Andra Day, New Orleans Councilwoman LaToya Cantrell and entrepreneur Brandice Daniel.
